2008 Projects & Repairs
- Upgrade the domestic water service supply line from City's main and replaced the SFWD meter from 1” to 2” to coincide with the Club's 2” copper main. This increased water pressure and volume.
- Replaced a 45+-year-old Heating & Air Conditioning unit, which serviced the main Ballroom, to a new energy efficient Heating & Air Conditioning package. Also replaced was this units' rooftop ductwork. 24 gauge insulated ductwork was installed to insure peak efficiency. Replace the main Ballroom thermostat with a digital programmable thermostat.
- Sign a service contract with Atlas Heating & Ventilating Company. Atlas will service all rooftop mechanical equipment @ the SFIAC 3 times a year.
- The first Atlas service found the motor powering the exhaust fan for the upstairs bar burned out. This unit hasn't worked in years according to Atlas. The motor was contaminated with bird droppings & feathers. The unit was cleaned, the motor was replaced, and new belts and pulleys were installed. A screen to prevent further bird infestation was installed.
- The first Atlas service also revealed the motor powering the exhaust fan servicing the first floor men's & woman's restrooms burned out. This unit also hasn't worked for some time according to Atlas. The unit was serviced and the motor, pulleys and belts were replaced.
- The first service was completed as Atlas serviced all other mechanical equipment on the rooftops. All units were cleaned, oiled, belts replaced/tightened as needed and all filters on all units were replaced. This insures that all the SFIAC's mechanical equipment is operating efficiently.
- Replace two 35+-year-old water heaters with one high recovery 100-gallon water heater. This water heater supply's the entire Club with hot water.
- Replace the U.S. Post Office bathroom fan/motor. Motor was burned out due to dust and lint buildup. Clean ductwork to prevent future problems.
- Repair steam room boiler so that it operates efficiently.
- Paint & water seal bare wood on rooftop above Parkview Room.
- Replace the current electrical outlet with a new electrical outlet, in the kitchen's pantry, to accommodate a new coffee maker.
- Make necessary electrical adjustments (waterproof outlet) to accommodate the water fountain on the terrace of the Parkview Room.
- Remove obsolete 12' satellite dish from rooftop.

2009 Projects & Repairs
- Remodel main Ballroom bar, including making the main Ballroom and surrounding areas ADA compliant.
- Replace the main Ballroom electrical panel.
- Install a new fire sprinkler system in the main Ballroom & bar, kitchen hallways & pantry, locker and storage areas. Connect the old existing sprinklers/fire hoses to the new system. Replace all old existing fire sprinkler heads with new heads.
- Contracted with an alarm company to monitor the U.S. Post Office, Parkview Room and Gymnasium fire sprinklers. This system hasn't been monitored, and was installed when the Post Office/Parkview Room was built.
- Contracted with the same alarm company to monitor the newly installed fire sprinkler system once completed.
- Made necessary repairs and correct compliance issues related to a recent inspection made by the San Francisco Fire Department.
- Made necessary roofing repairs to correct standing water on the gymnasium rooftop.
- Made necessary roofing repairs to correct leaks over the gymnasium and Parkview Room restroom rooftops.
